• Crew cut. Crew cuts are popular among boys and men. This cut makes the hair on the top of the head longer than the sides. Stylists use a razor on the sides and a scissor trim on top to achieve this look.
• Buzz cut. With a buzz cut, all your hair is the same length. A buzz cut can be modified to make it shorter in the summer, and longer in the winter.
• Pompadour. Pompadours look great on teen boys and men. They offer a cool slicked-back look that was made popular in the 1950s. The hair must be longer on top, but you can make the sides shorter.
• Taper fade. With a taper fade, the hair is longer on top and shorter as it goes down. Clippers of various lengths are used on the back of your head and along the sides to achieve this look.
